: The Quest는 신화적인 틀을 차용하면서 학교라는 현실 공간에서 이루어지는 청소년들의 우정과 질투, 사랑, 화해, 그리고 때로는 어른스러운 사회적 주제들까지 다루는 흥미로운 성장소설입니다. 특히, 등장인물들의 심리묘사나 대화는 어른 작가가 흉내 내기 어려울 만큼 그들만의 세계와 생각을 그들의 관점에서 생동감 있게 잘 그려내고 있는 점이 인상적입니다. 그러나 그 무엇보다도 주인공 찰스와 아델라의 사랑을 영어라는 표현수단을 통해 긴장감을 잃지 않으며 이렇게 멋지게 담아내는 고등학생 저자의 문학적 상상력과 표현력이 매우 유쾌합니다.
